his geometric table runner is a great way to learn the basic skills of quilting. This project uses a jelly roll (2.5” strips of a family of fabrics) and a background fabric. Depending on the fabrics you choose, it can become a decorative statement piece on any table top! Laurie will provide you with 2 size options. This class is recommended for the complete novice or a confident beginner.
TABLE RUNNER SIZE OPTIONS:
12’ X 51’ Recommended for the Sewing Novice
23”x 51” Recommended for the Confident Beginner
Materials you will need:
- A jelly roll or a selection of fabric strips cut 2.5” wide by the WOF (width of fabric)
- 1 ½ yards of background fabric that reads like a solid. This is to offset the colors found in the jellyroll
- 1 ½ yards of fusible fleece or a throw size batting
- Sewing machine in good working order
- 50 weight cotton thread
- 45mm Rotary cutter
- 6” x 24” acrylic ruler
- At least a 18’ x 24” or larger cutting mat/self-healing mat
- Thread snips, Glasshead pins
- Size 80 Quilting or Microtex machine sewing needle
