Playing with Triangles with Susan Louis

Duration: 2.5 Hrs

Sessions: 3 (August 5, 12 and 19)

As many triangles as there are in a quilt, that is how many ways triangles can be arranged in different patterns with quite distinct results.

We will explore, through hands on exercises, techniques for making half square and quarter square triangles, along with how colors and patterned fabrics, as well as sizes of the original squares, influence the final choice of assembling the finished product.

Materials you will need:

• Sewing Machine in good working condition
• Quarter inch foot for your machine
• Neutral color thread
• Rotary cutter, cutting mat and ruler
• Fabric marker
• Pencil and notepad to take notes
• An assortment of patterned fabrics and 5" solid squares 
• An assortment of patterned fabrics and 10" solid squares 
• 6 pcs of 5" squares of muslin
• 6 pcs of 10" squares of muslin
