Beginner Friendly Tote Bag with Laurie Alice

Open for ages 12 and over, this beginner‑friendly class teaches you how to create your very own one‑of‑a‑kind, functional tote bag. The skill‑building techniques you learn here will carry over beautifully into a wide range of future sewing projects.

You’ll practice essential fundamentals, including:

• Aligning raw edges to sew clean, straight seams

• Finishing inside seams for a polished interior

• Securing straps so they’re strong and durable

• Creating boxed corners for structure and shape

• Applying an external pocket with decorative machine stitching

By the end of class, you’ll leave with a fully finished tote bag you’ll be proud to use—and the confidence to take on more bag‑making and beginner sewing projects.

All fabrics will be provided for you (included in your class fee)

Pre-requisite: Completed Machine Basics with Laurie Alice or has similar sewing experience.

• Scissors or snips

• Small ruler, tape measure
• Fabric marker, seam ripper
• Point turner, seam gauge
• Thread for machine - variety of bright colors and neutral shades
