Alteration Lab - The Jean Hem with Catherine Petrosino

Duration: 1.5 hrs.

In this class you will learn how to do the classic jean hem using your sewing machine. We will review how to choose the best hem length, properly mark and cut them, and the best techniques to achieve a professional hem.

You must know how to operate your sewing machine. 

Materials needed:

* Sewing machine in good working order and machine accessories
* Basic sewing tools: pins, ruler, tailor’s chalk, seam ripper, scissors
* All-purpose polyester thread to match your jeans and jean topstitching thread
* Topstitch needles size 14 or 16
* One or two pairs of jeans to hem
