Alteration Lab - Pants and Skirts with Catherine Petrosino

Duration: 3 hrs.

Would you like to learn how to alter your own clothes? In this 3-hour workshop, we will explore the various techniques to take in pants and skirts. You will learn the proper way to pin your garment and then how to transfer the markings to stitch the new seams. We will discuss the best approach on how to alter your garment based on how it is made including how to take in waistbands, darts, inseams and side seams.

Bring in a few garments that you would like to alter and be prepared to try them on! You will have ample time to work on your garments.

You must know how to operate your sewing machine. 

Materials needed:

* Sewing machine in good working order and machine accessories 
* Basic sewing tools: pins, ruler, tailor’s chalk, seam ripper, scissors
* All purpose polyester thread to match your garments
* A few garments to alter - pants or skirts only
